WWW Wednesday – September 2, 2020

Happy September, all! I love that I can start the new month right with some “shelf reflection.” The WWW Wednesday meme is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned. I loved doing this challenge, and am so excited to give it another shot.

To take part, all you have to do is answer the following three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What I am Currently Reading:

Last week on WWW Wednesday, I was preparing to read On Borrowed Crime by Kate Young. It is a little bit of a rough go, because the ARC for the Kindle is poorly formatted, but I am confident to finish it soon – our October of this year! I am also doing something I normally don’t do, rereading a book. The Bear and the Nightingale was perhaps one of my favorite ARCS to ever get to review, and by the time I received the second book as an ARC, I dropped the ball and didn’t review it. Now, I want to start the series from the beginning.

What I Recently Finished Reading:

I finished both Archive of the Forgotten and Emerald Blaze as promised from last week’s post, and loved them both (review of Archive here; and RTC for Emerald Blaze). Since I was on vacation of sorts and feeling very relaxed, I also finished a cozy that I got from a secondhand bookshop a while ago called Off Kilter by Hannah Reed, which takes place in the Scottish Highlands. It was cute, and I will probably borrow the other three books in the series from the library.

What I Think I’ll Read Next:

I still haven’t gotten to Mums and Mayhem, which is a bummer because I loved the first two books. I am also carrying over The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin from last week. I am over the moon about this one. N.K. Jemisin is an amazing writer, I have my copy signed, and I can’t wait to dive into some good Brooklyn-based fantasy. as a bonus, my job chose this for this month’s book club book, so now I have no excuse in a positive way.

That’s all, folks! Drop a comment and send me a link to your WWW Wednesday so we can chat 🙂 Happy reading!

    1. Hope you get a chance to give it a read! I don’t love the romance as much as some of Andrews’ other books, but the plot is still amazing and great worldbuild. Happy reading 🙂

    1. I know, it is such a beautiful book but there is so much going on! The second book was even better in my opinion, completely different somehow. I have book three, waiting until I reread 1 & 2. Hope you enjoy also!
