The WWW Wednesday meme is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned. I loved doing this challenge, and am so excited to give it another shot. It is the second week of September, and autumn is my favorite month for introspection, so this is perfect.

To take part, all you have to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What I am Currently Reading:
Last week on WWW Wednesday, I had begun reading On Borrowed Crime by Kate Young. I am ashamed to say I haven’t put much of a dent in yet because of my wild binge read of the Hidden Legacy series (whoops)! I have no regrets, but that binge read did put me behind, so now I am juggling my work’s book club read, The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin; my Netgalley read; and pleasure read Hooked on Ewe (sequel to Off Kilter, RTC).
What I Recently Finished Reading:
So almost immediately after setting goals for myself to finish my ARC book and another pleasure read, I threw my plans out the window and spent Labor Day Weekend rereading the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. It isn’t even my favorite series by her, but the pure UF escapism was something I needed this weekend. It is hard not to feel guilty about rereading a series when you have a stack of books to read for Netgalley and so many that you just want to read, but sometimes, comfort is paramount.
What I Think I’ll Read Next:
I still haven’t gotten to Mums and Mayhem, which is a bummer because I loved the first two books (this statement is carried over from at least two weeks, so I am perpetually bummed). My next Netgalley pick is The Inspector of Strange and Unexplained Deaths, by Olivier Barde-Gabucon, which comes out October 6. It is a translation of an older series from France, which I did not know when I applied for it. I don’t know if I would have taken it if I’d known that, since translations can be hit or miss, but the premise sounds pretty cool.
That’s all, folks! Drop a comment and send me a link to your WWW Wednesday so we can chat 🙂 Happy reading!
I’m actually about to dive into the Hidden Legacy series (for the first time) so I can’t blame you for giving in 🙂 Happy reading! Here’s my WWW Wednesday post.

I definitely want to check out The City We Became but I also don’t read a ton of fantasy so I’m a little scared.

Sometimes those comforting rereads are just necessary. I so need to pick up an Ilona Andrews book. Good luck getting through those ARCs!
