WWW Wednesday – October 7, 2020

A day late and a dollar short, but I love this challenge so much that I will get over the Thursday vibe. The WWW Wednesday meme is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned.

To take part, all you have to do is answer the following three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

So, without further ado…

What I am Currently Reading:

I am finally on track to read the books I chose for my October TBR. The Left Handed Booksellers of London has been on my preorder list ever since Garth Nix announced it, and I am so happy to be reading a physical hardcover book right now. His writing style, for me, is more suited for YA, but the premise is so interesting. Idols & Enemies was also on my preorder list as a Kindle book, and while I haven’t jumped in as much as I would like to, I have no doubt once I do it will be all-consuming. That is just how Meghan Ciana Doidge books are.

What I Recently Finished Reading:

I finally got the finish One for the Books, the newest Library Lover’s mystery. It has libraries, love, seaside setting, a cute dog, and cozy murders; how do you beat that? Review to come on that one. I also flew through The Midnight Bargain, which I received as an ARC a little late in the game, but which I ended up loving (review here). It felt good and almost back to normal to finish two books in semi-rapid succession, both f which I enjoyed.

What I Think I’ll Read Next:

So many books, so little time. I have received all of the above in the mail already / as e-book and they were all on my October TBR, so it is fair game. Probably The Orphan of Cemetery Hill first because I won it, but simultaneously maybe The Gilded Wolves since I am a big behind on this series and will hopefully provide a less serious foil to the spooky gothic vibe if Orphans. However, Murder on Cold Street is the next book in one of my favorite series, Magic Lessons is a prequel to my favorite book, The Midnight Library looks like a cozy October read as compared to a spooky one, and A Deadly Education was one of my most anticipated books for this year. So it is anyone’s guess what I will grab.

That’s my WWW this week! Please leave a comment and your WWW link so we can chat. Happy reading! 🙂

    1. Oh no, I hadn’t heard about that issue with A Deadly Education! That is such a bummer. I ended up buying it, but will read it with a more critical eye. The Left Handed Booksellers has so far been absolutely amazing; really representative and also wonderful worldbuild. Happy reading! 🙂
